USB-C Type has been considered as a universal standard, which will do all the tasks from charging Phone, Laptop, Tablets, Bluetooth speakers using only one port. USB 3.2 is here.
But the future is not the same, with the change in voltage requirement, Specifications of data transfer and power, it is not sure all the devices which you will plugin will work the same way as you want. Even your brand new computer may become dust.
Keeping that in mind, the USB 3.0 promoter group has announced an incremental update to the existing 3.1 standard to 3.2, that will enable faster data transmission across the existing cables i.e. double the possible bandwidth from 10Gbps to 20Gbps. So basically the transfer speed will be doubled. It will support “multi-lane operation” that, will allow devices utilizing it to transfer multiple lanes of data at the same time.
As, existing USB-C cables already support multi-lane operation, no new cables are needed to realize the faster speeds. The USB 3.2 specifications will remain compatible with USB 3.0 and earlier devices.
The USB 3.2 standard is not yet finalized and expected to get released by the end of this year 2017, till
then you can still enjoy your cutting edge computers.
